Information
about available spaces The Lounge / Theatre
Area
The lounge
/ theatre area provides level flooring of 2,625 sq.
ft. (75 x 35ft) of space with the seating bank retracted.
A refreshment area of 15ft x 35ft can be provided,
leaving 2,100 sq. ft. of available space. |
The
Gallery Area
The
Gallery Area provides 688 sq. ft. (43ft x 16ft) of space and can be
used as a meeting area, refreshment area and / or additional exhibition
space. The space is reached by means of a staircase from the main lobby.
Facilities
A proscenium stage with an optional apron which can be converted to an orchestra
pit if required. The proscenium width is 27ft and the stage depth 24ft. The apron
is 35ft wide by 6ft deep. Wing space is ample and in June 1998 a new stage floor
was laid along with the fitting of new stage curtains (tabs and legs). There
are no flying facilities so flattage or drapes are the only types of staging
that can be accommodated. The stage lighting control is a Rank Strand JP 40 3
pre-set board which is situated in the control room to the rear left of the auditorium. The Stage Area
The stage area of 26ft
x 20ft can be used for additional exhibition space, to provide a
performance area or for musicians to play from.

There are 4 lighting bars,
3 on stage plus 1 front of house. Under Health and Safety legislation
a Theatre Technician must be present when this equipment is being
used. A new sound system was
installed in June 1998, comprising of;

Folio sound board comprising of 8 mono, 2 stereo and 2 auxiliary
channels;
- 2 x
200w amplifiers;
- A multi-disc
compact disc player;
- A Yamaha
single play cassette deck.

red hard of hearing system

Two
pianos are available for hire.
A full bar facility is available. Kitchen facilities are also available for hire
is patrons wish to organize catered events.
Hiring
charges
There is a minimum 4 hour full rate charge per day. Preparation and clearance
time (beyond the minimum 4 hour full rate) are charged at 50%. There are four
scales of charges ranging from concessionary to commercial and different rates
for weekday, weekend and Bank Holiday hires. |
