Attended the Saturday performance with my partner on her recommendation, her having seen the troupe numerous times. Although I am fairly unacustomed to modern dance I was soon caught in the troupes mezereric grip, and fully engaged in happily desiphering and interpreting the numerous cultural and musical genre cross referencing of the dance.
I was particullaly impressed and delighted with Renee Robinson's dancing to the narrative of Judith Jamison, in effect dancing the spoken word, rhythm and meter. . . dancing poetry no less.
