Further info

Conducting this special gala concert is Alexander Liebreich, one of Europe's fastest rising musical stars, having won the Kiril Kondrashin Conducting Competition in 1996, and now firmly established as major talent in both Europe and the Far East. He is certain to give both Brahms's monumental First Symphony and Beethoven's dramatic Overture to Goethe's tragedy 'Egmont' interpretations to remember. The soloist in Mozart's elegant Piano Concerto No. 21, memorably used in the film 'Elvira Madigan', is the pianist Kit Armstrong, already acclaimed internationally as major talent while still studying with Alfred Brendel, and very much a name to watch for the future.

This concert promises to be a fitting end to a splendid season.
