The members of the Aperto Quartet studied at the 'Hanns Eisler' Academy Berlin. They founded the Aperto Piano Quartet in 2000 and has since performed in some of Germany's most prestigious concert halls including annually in the Berlin Philharmonie. Gernot Süssmuth and Hans-Jacob Eschenburg were permanent members of the world famous Petersen Quartet with which Felix Schwarz also played for the Quartet's Carnegie Hall debut in New York. Franka-Immo Zichner is one of Germany's most celebrated pianists, performing concertos and giving numerous recitals.
