The Czech National Symphony Orchestra brings a programme devoted to two of the greatest Czech composers: Smetana and Dvorak. Smetana's well-loved cycle of symphonic poems 'My Country' vividly evokes the Orchestrra's homeland:  The Moldau depicts the course of the River Moldau that flows through Prague, while From Bohemia's Woods and Fields evokes the lushness of the Czech countryside. With Smetana, Dvorak was the towering genius of nineteenth century Czech music. His Eighth Symphony established him as a European composer of the first rank, alongside Brahms, while his Cello Concerto is one of the finest works, filled with lyricism and passion.
