The dynamic young Polish conductor Ewe Strusinska returns to Bradford after her brilliant debut last season with the Hallé, of which she is now assistant conductor. The centrepiece of her programme is Brahms's lyrical Second Symphony, full of autumnal lushness, The soloist in Grieg's ever-popular Piano Concerto is the brilliant young Chinese virtuoso Hong Xu, who has been hailed by The New York Times as 'a technically brilliant, insightful musician of seemingly limitless potential.' The concert opens with Weber's romantic Oberon Overture.
