Direct from Buenos Aires, Argentina's hottest dance show TANGO FIRE returns to St George's Hall. A sell-out hit in 2007, the sizzling show features 10 sensational dancers accompanied by Quatrotango, a quartet of brilliant musicians. This is tango at its fiery best.
TANGO FIRE is an irresistible journey through the history of this most seductive of dance forms. Period duets evoke the glitter and danger of the barrios where the dance was born, and the heady nostalgia of the early dance halls where it was popularised, while the group's modern choreography is edged with the sharpness and sophistication of contemporary Argentina.
As one of the most popular dance forms world-wide, this show combines the rawness and sophistication, sexy yet sensual side of tango, in a true dance spectacular.
The dancers are Yanina Fajar & Nelson Celis; Victoria Saudelli & Sebastian Alvarez; Ines Cuesta & Mauricio Celis; Florencia Roldan & Juan Malizia; and Carolina Giannini & German Cornejo
Quatrotango, a quartet of brilliant young musicians, provide the live music, expertly combining the nostalgic tradition of tango with a contemporary cutting edge and blend the traditional instruments of tango: bandoneón, piano, violin & double bass. The singer is Pablo Lago. Having sung with many of the famous tango orchestras his reputation as one of Buenos Aires' most sought after vocalists is well deserved.
