The first visit this season from the Hallé under Christian Mandeal will open the evening with Schubert's evocative Overture in the Italian Style, which will be followed by one of our most illustrious pianists, John Lill, who is renowned for his interpretations of Beethoven. John has played this concerto throughout the world, and is recognised as one of its leading interpreters. Sibelius's epic Symphony No.2 will end the evening, arguably the composer's most popular symphony, and one which never fails to make a great impression.
