Under its dynamic new chief conductor from Columbia, Andres Orozco-Estrada, who has recently taken Vienna by storm, it plays one of the most attractive symphonies by the Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, his First Symphony, which Bruckner nicknamed 'his saucy girl'. The soloist in Beethoven's majestic Emperor Piano Concerto is the exciting young Russian-born pianist Natasha Paremski, a major prize winner in the USA. The concert opens with the bustling Overture to one of Mozart's finest operas, The Marriage of Figaro.
