Kings Hall & Winter Gardens

A central venue in the picturesque village of Ilkley which comprises of a Victorian Music Hall-style theatre and adjacent glass roofed spa hall. The Kings Hall is also licensed for civil wedding ceremonies.

The Kings Hall

The King's Hall is a theatre style hall with a level floor area of 2,700 sq. ft. (60ft x 45ft). The King's Hall has a capacity of 482 when used as a theatre (auditorium–374, balcony–66, boxes–32). The venue has box office facilities and separate entrance.

The Winter Gardens

The Winter Gardens is a glass roofed, spa type hall with an individual entrance foyer which has pay box facilities and adjacent male and female toilet facilities. The ground floor gives 1,968 sq. ft (48ft x 41ft) of floor space and has access points through from King's Hall. The bar is situated on the first floor which has a three sided balcony giving the Winter Gardens a total floor space of 2,500 sq. ft. Kitchen facilities with a serving point are located on the ground floor of the Winter Gardens.

The whole venue gives a total floor space of over 7,000 sq. ft.

Facilities The King's Hall has a raked stage measuring 27ft x 25ft with stage curtains (tabs and legs). There are no flying facilities.

The stage lighting control is a Gemini 2 Plus (with FX panel). The lighting bars are static. The control room is situated to the rear of the balcony, stage left. 5 x webblex comms system.

The sound system is an 8 channel OHM combined amplifier and mixer. If needed, a smaller sound desk can be set up to the rear of the auditorium.

Two pianos are available for hire (an upright or a 'full' size concert Steinway).

A full bar facility (provided by Education Contract Services) is available. Kitchen facilities are also available for hire if patrons wish to organize catered events.

Platform staging can be hired for use as multi height rostering, catwalk, etc.

Hiring charges

There is a minimum 4 hour full rate charge per day. Preparation and clearance time (beyond the minimum 4 hour full rate) are charged at 50%. There are four scales of charges ranging from concessionary to commercial and different rates for weekday, weekend and Bank Holiday hires.
