Alhambra Theatre in Bradford Prepares for Giant Pantomime Season

Jack and the Beanstalk, Yorkshire’s biggest and funniest pantomime, was launched in giant fashion today at the Alhambra Theatre. King of Bradford pantomime Billy Pearce was joined by Lisa Riley, John Challis and Jake Canuso, with a special appearance from Daisy the Cow, ahead of this year’s show which opens on Saturday 12 December.

In his seventeenth Alhambra Theatre panto Billy Pearce returns to the stage, this year in the title role of Jack. The ever-popular, multi award-winning comedian will bring his usual zany and physical comedy to the role, something Bradford audiences have come to expect and adore, however there will still be a few surprises along the way.

The line-up also features Emmerdale's Lisa Riley, Only Fools and Horses' John Challis, and Jake Canuso who is perhaps best known for his role as Mateo in ITV’s Benidorm.

Jack and the Beanstalk is staged by Qdos Entertainment, the world's largest pantomime producer, and the company behind the Alhambra Theatre's record-breaking pantomimes. The show will feature more comedy than audiences can shake a bag of magic beans at, a huge beanstalk with one very mean giant at the top of it, plus a spectacular 3D sequence and some very special effects.

Michael Harrison, managing director of Qdos Entertainment's pantomime division and executive producer of Jack and the Beanstalk says:

"We are thrilled to have such a giant cast on stage together in Yorkshire’s biggest pantomime. The sensational cast, combined with magnificent scenery, fabulous costumes, and the return of 3D special effects, guarantees that Jack and the Beanstalk is going to be another unmissable Alhambra Theatre panto!"

Jack and the Beanstalk runs from Saturday 12 December 2015 to Sunday 24 January 2016.
