Bradford Theatres Programming Team

Programmes three main venues which are suitable for a variety of events with the following aims:

• To provide a rich, well balanced theatre programme which gives a wide variety of product reflecting the needs and expectations of the local community.
• To raise the regional and national profile of Bradford as a City of Culture, enhancing tourism and attracting visitors.
• To develop and serve audiences of the future.
• To contribute to the artistic and social development of the district's communities.
• To build relationships with practitioners, theatre companies, agents and producers to become a first choice on the touring circuit.
• To provide and maintain an infrastructure of performance spaces which are available for hire.

St George's Concert Hall - seating capacity 1,530 fully seated or 1,800 part-standing

St George's is a traditional shoe box shaped Victorian concert hall, presenting a wide variety of events, mostly on a single night basis. The venue has an excellent acoustic and is mostly used for music events, including an orchestral concert season, bhangra, Asian classical, brass bands, choral concerts and rock and pop. The hall also attracts big names in variety entertainment.  Occasional theatre productions such as Asian drama, concert style musicals, regular children's shows and amateur productions augment the large scale theatre presented at The Alhambra Theatre. 

The hall is available for hire and is well used by amateur theatre companies and stage schools, as well as for graduation ceremonies,  school speech days, presentations, commercial meetings, conferences and exhibitions.
