Welcome to the 2010/11 International Concert Season
On behalf of Bradford Theatres, I am thrilled to present the 145th International Orchestral Concert Season. We are extremely proud to host this historic season at St George’s Concert Hall during 2010/11 which carries on the tradition of bringing the world’s top orchestras and soloists to Bradford.
This season focuses upon the music of Austria and specifically its capital city, Vienna. It includes the popular Hallé New Year Viennese Concert, The Mozarteum Orchestra of Salzburg presenting a programme of three outstanding Viennese masterpieces and a first time visit from the Vienna Tonkünstler Orchestra.
We welcome back our resident orchestra the Hallé presenting three concerts, two of which are conducted by the Hallé’s Music Director, Sir Mark Elder; and the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow Radio, one of Russia’s greatest orchestras.
Our Chamber season at Bradford Cathedral is now entering its 23rd International Season and this year it will be opened by a very special concert, led by one of Britain’s finest musicians, Julian Lloyd Webber.
This is a season of extraordinary musical riches, which is sure to appeal to all, and I hope you will continue to support Bradford Theatres and our International Orchestral and Chamber seasons.
With best regards
Adam Renton
