The Studio is a flexible small theatre and rehearsal space adjacent to the Alhambra Theatre. The Studio was created in 1986 as part of the major Alhambra Theatre refurbishment, through the acquisition of the Majestic Cinema.
In 2016 The Studio was refurbished, bringing the intimate space up to date with a new retractable seating bank and modernised bar.
The Studio has hosted many legends from the comedy scene over the years, such as Peter Kay, Sarah Millican, Russell Howard and Tom Allen. It continues to welcome the newest and biggest names on the comedy circuit, such as Suzi Ruffell, Babatunde Aleshe and Sophie McCartney.
The Studio is often used as rehearsal and workshop space and over the years has welcomed Disney, Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, the National Theatre, and the Royal Shakespeare company. Every year our panto cast calls the space home during their two-week rehearsal.
