A Night of Variety, Celebrating 100 years of the Alhambra Theatre
Starring Michael Ball. An homage to the Alhambra Theatre's early days of Variety, and subsequent long entertainment history.
Michael Ball has won critical and public acclaim over the last 25 years with his dynamic, award-winning lead roles in the West End and on Broadway. And, with his concurrent career as a multi-platinum recording artist, top selling live concert performer and radio and television broadcaster, the Olivier-Award winning Ball has been, for many years, in the enviable position of combining these individual aspects of show business with continuing success.
The Alhambra Theatre opened its doors for the very first time to the general public with a Variety show which ran for a week in March 1914. The show included a multitude of acts and also a Revue called A Year in the Hour. Performers included stars of pantomime, music hall, musical comedy, stand-up comedians, singers and acrobats.
Michael is joined by many famous faces, including panto favourite and Yorkshire's own Billy Pearce; Lesley Joseph: The Krankies; Joe McElderry; Joe Pasquale and Matthew Bourne's New Adventures
