Aladdin proves to be another high-flying Alhambra Pantomime!

For the past few years audiences at West Yorkshire\'s biggest pantomime, at the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford, have seen an array of fantastic visual effects produced by The Twins FX. They are considered to be one of the leading companies operating in the field of theatrical visual special effects, illusions and animatronics in the world.

Last Christmas Yorkshire pantomime veteran Billy Pearce was heard shouting \"Hiya kids!\" from up on high as he soared out into the audience on a motor cycle created by the team at The Twins FX. And this year\'s Alhambra pantomime, Aladdin, features more of The Twins\' unique brand of illusions.

As the final rehearsals for Aladdin are underway, more details have been announced as to what audiences can expect this year.

Michael Harrison, managing director of Qdos Entertainment\'s pantomime division and executive producer of the Alhambra Theatre pantomime explains:

\"Pantomime audiences increasingly expect big and impressive effects and each year we work hard to ensure there are some impressive wow-factors beyond the traditional pantomime magic found within the story itself.\"

Be warned, there\'s a show-spoiler coming up!

This year audiences will see panto star, Billy Pearce as Aladdin, taking a unique flying carpet ride! Using what The Twins FX describe as \'revolver technology\' the carpet magically flies into the audience, rotating 360 degrees, before delivering Billy to safety, leaving him nothing to worry about other than whether he will live happily ever after with the Princess (played by Jenny Gayner, whose West End credits include Chicago and Spamalot).

Other creations from The Twins FX that audiences will see this year on stage in Bradford include an 18-foot long talking Cobra and a monster-sized Gorilla!

Michael continues:

\"Finding the right effects for the cast and show is really important. Billy Pearce is the comedy-heart of this production of Aladdin, and it\'s fitting that the effect celebrates the casting as well as the storyline. When we were thinking about the making of this year\'s show I did sound Billy out on how he felt about rollercoaster rides, I wonder if he realised this is what I had in mind?\".

Gary Hardy-Brown from The Twins FX says

\"We pride ourselves in making the impossible possible! Each year we work closely with colleagues at Qdos Entertainment to plan some awe-inspiring creations. This year, amongst other creations, we\'ll be delivering a 13m tall beanstalk, a monster-sized fully animatronics crocodile and a mega giant to stages across the UK. The carpet which audiences will see in Bradford is one of our best effects yet!\"

***** (five stars) \"With its breathtaking sets, lavish costumes and some startling special effects, Cinderella can only be described as magical.\" Yorkshire Post 4 Jan 13
