Work is progressing at a pace on the restoration of Bradford’s Grade II* listed St George’s Hall, which is part funded by a £1.5m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Inside the venue, where possible the front of house areas have been increased and will be decorated sympathetically to suit the heritage of the building. Improved sight lines and comfort of the seating in the auditorium is progressing, whilst ensuring the world class acoustics are unaffected.
The venue is due to reopen to acts from January 2019. More details about on-sale dates for shows coming to St George’s Hall next year, will be announced very soon.
Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Healthy People and Places, said:
“The refurbishment of St George’s Hall will ensure that this heritage building is maintained and brought up to standard as a top class venue adding to the fantastic cultural offer in Bradford. Work is progressing well and I’m sure once complete will secure the building for future generations of audiences.”
We will continue to give updates about how the work progresses at St George’s Hall via our website and other digital communication channels. Please stay in touch with us.
