Joining the orchestra is pianist Noriko Ogawa who returns to St George’s Hall with a performance of Rachmaninov’s ever popular and lyrical Piano Concerto No. 1, also completed by the composer at an early age of 18.

The programme concludes with a selection of music from Prokofiev’s sparkling, brooding and romantic ballet Romeo and Juliet including the ‘Montagues and Capulets’ theme, most recently associated with the BBC’s The Apprentice programme.
