Bradford Theatres Announce Spring 2018 Season

The countdown to panto has begun and we are looking forward to welcoming back Alhambra Theatre favourite Billy Pearce, with singer and Loose Women panellist Coleen Nolan and stage star Shane Nolan for this year’s spectacular pantomime Cinderella.

Then we step into spring 2018 with a wonderful mix of shows including classic musicals; Sunset Boulevard Crazy For You and Evita. We welcome back girls night out favourite Menopause The Musical and Flashdance – The Musical starring Strictly Come Dancing Champion Joanne Clifton.

Opera and Ballet International proudly presents Ellen Kent’s Opera Festival including Rigoletto, La Traviata and Madama Butterfly and Anton du Beke & Erin Boag celebrate a decade of dance with their new show From Broadway to Hollywood. The National Theatre’s War Horse returns for a four week run and The Touring Consortium present Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic gothic thriller Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde starring Phil Daniels.    The Alhambra Theatre, King’s Hall, Ilkley and The Studio boast some great names in comedy with  Alun Cochrane, Dave Spikey, Mark Watson and Tim Vine and evenings with Michael Portillo, Joe Brown and larger than life British actor Brian Blessed.  Adam Renton, General Manager Bradford Theatres says: "We are very much looking forward to our exciting Spring 2018 season, which is packed full of some of the best touring shows, including a return visit of the National Theatre’s War Horse; a new production of Sunset Boulevard; and a dance premier with Ballet British Columbia. Don’t forget to join us for Yorkshire’s biggest and most lavish pantomime this festive season: Cinderella is set to delight young and old.  Following customer feedback, we have undertaken refurbishment works to the award-winning Alhambra Theatre’s foyer, stage and auditorium to improve customers’ experience when visiting us.  The Box Office counter in the foyer has been completely refurbished to ensure services are accessible for all customers; and we have made space for additional female toilets to help reduce queuing times on show nights. Seating in the Dress Circle has been reupholstered; the safety bars in the Upper Circle have also been lowered to reduce viewing restrictions from certain seats on the front few rows.
