Two Top Nights of Comedy at the Studio

Two hugely popular names on the comedy circuit are bringing their hilarious shows to The Studio next month. On Thursday 2 November we welcome Kerry Godliman, one of the UK’s most talented comedians around right now, with her show Stick Or Twist. Then on Friday 10 November, American-born Scottish stand-up comic Jerry Sadowitz makes a welcome return with his unique combination of comedy, hatred and card tricks.

Kerry Godliman’s straight talking brand of quick wit and bewilderment will be covering more of life’s anomalies in theatres up and down the country. She’ll be looking at all the big issues of the day including: why there’s a Buddha at the garden centre? Why she collects her children’s teeth? And even though she can't stand aubergines, why is that her favourite emoji? There’s so much to get sorted, especially when deciding whether to stick or twist.   Regularly seen and heard across the television, film and radio spectrum, Kerry received critical acclaim for her role as Hannah in Ricky Gervais’ hit series Derek for Channel 4. She recently starred in Christopher Guest’s feature film Mascots and Sky’s new family sitcom, Carters Get Rich. Kerry has notched up several appearances on BBC’s Live At The Apollo and is a regular on the esteemed BBC Radio 4 shows The News Quiz and Just A Minute, as well as having her own Radio 4 show Kerry’s List.     Kerry has also appeared in BBC’s: Jack Dee’s Referendum Helpdesk, Pointless Celebrities, Crackanory, Him and Her, Miranda, Getting On, Extras, Home Time, Our Girl, and Channel 4’s Comedy Gala and Spoons. She has also appeared in several stage plays including England People Very Nice at the National Theatre.   Recommended age 14+     Known for his frequently controversial ‘sick humour’ Jerry Sadowitz has certainly made a name for himself  on the touring comedy circuit.    Every moment with this politically incorrect comedian is guaranteed to make the audience feel better about themselves, as he bangs on about some pish or other.    Hard to reconcile but true, is the fact that Sadowitz is also quite literally one of the very best card magicians on the planet, both creatively and technically. So much so, that tricks that no other magician in the world would dare to do live, he does with such easy facility, that you would think he was using a trick pack of cards. Many of the tricks he does in his show are his own original inventions. “I can do my whole show with a pack of cards borrowed from anyone in the audience" he says and that would be true. Sadowitz is also a psychopath, which means there might not be any card tricks at all… instead there might be an hour of bagpipes and balloon animals!   Strictly over 18's only!
