The London Bollywood Orchestra presents Sounds of Mumbai.
Bringing you raw, live, musical magic from Mumbai’s never-ending factory of inspiration that delivers hit films and songs year after year.
Award-winning singers and actors, Rekha and Navin Kundra, will take you through classics from the 1940s to the present day. Expect to be blown away by songs you love and a few forgotten gems you hadn’t expected.
In a melting pot you’d only find in an Andheri studio, the band includes top musicians from the West End, London’s classical orchestras and jazz bands. This is Bollywood, the sounds of Mumbai, up close and personal, in a way that you won’t find in your living room.
Navin’s vocals have received praise from the likes of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Cliff Richard, Shaan and King Charles. Rekha’s theatre credits include Bend it Like Beckham and Bhangra Nation. She has performed and collaborated with Shankar Mahadevan, Kuljit Bhamra, Naughty Boy, Ellie Goulding and Arjun. Music Director Tim Pottier was the lead arranger behind the Lata Mangeshkar Prom, the CBSOs Best of Bollywood concerts, Sonu Nigam’s Rafi Resurrected and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s Remembering Nusrat.
