A Fresh Batch of Comedy Coming to the Studio this Spring!

This Spring promises to be a bright one with a fantastic line up of comedy at The Studio.

Tom Houghton: Absolute Shambles – Wednesday 15 February, 7.30pm

Tom Houghton has been storming the comedy circuit with his hilarious stories and sharp-eyed silver spoon observations for the past 5 years. Whether it’s growing up with a Dad who is the Ex-Chief of Defence Staff, living in the Tower of London or lifting the lid on the all-boys boarding school environment.

The multi-viral, social media sensation is delving even deeper into his ludicrous life with his second UK tour as he tries to smarten up the not so honourable aspects of himself.

Recently seen on Comedy Central, The Circle (US) on Netflixand tour support for Milton Jones.

Looking for Me Friend: The Music of Victoria Wood - Saturday 4 March, 7.30pm

Written and performed by Paulus (BBC1’s All Together Now, ‘King of Cabaret’ The Stage), and directed by multi-award-winning cabaret artist Sarah-Louise Young, the show is filled with love, laughter and fabulous memories for Victoria Wood fans as well as the ultimate ‘beginner’s guide’ for audiences new to her work. The highly acclaimed Musical Director Michael Roulston joins Paulus on stage as they perform many of Victoria’s most beloved songs together with lesser-known poignant compositions.

Eshaan Akbar: The Pretender – Friday 10 March, 8pm

After supporting some of the biggest acts in the UK, Eshaan Akbar embarks on his much-anticipated debut tour The Pretender. In a modern world where we are all pretending to know what we are doing, Eshaan wants us to embrace the hilarious truth that we don’t and the reasons why will provide proper laughs.

As seen on Mock the Week (BBC), QI (BBC), heard on award-winning podcasts Have a Word, Ninetwentynine, and Spitting Image, as well as LBC, Times Radio, and Radio 4.

Ray Bradshaw: Deaf Com 1 – Wednesday 15 March, 8pm

Ray’s clever, charming and very funny comedy has received critical acclaim from critics and fans alike. His new tour Deaf Com 1 is the follow up to his 2018 ground-breaking show Deaf Comedy Fam and covers his recent fatherhood in his witty but warm-hearted style.

International award-winning comic Ray spent 2021/22 touring the UK as John Bishop’s handpicked support act, having previously toured with Frankie Boyle in 2019. All of his shows are performed in both BSL and English.

Babatunde Aleshe: Babahood – Friday 14 April, 8pm

A firm TV favourite, the hugely popular award-winning comedian, actor and podcaster brings his highly anticipated debut sold out show to The Studio. Recently he has won a new legion of fans during his stint on ITV’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and last year his podcast series Mission Imagination won a prestigious ARIAS Award.

Suzi Ruffell: Snappy – Saturday 15 April, 8pm

Suited and booted multi award winning comedian Suzi Ruffell follows her previous critically acclaimed tour, Dance Like Everyone Is Watching with a new show about how she likes the things in her life - Snappy. She will also be sharing her comic musings on being a mum (without being mumsy) and continuing to worry about everything.

A regular on TV and radio including Live at The Apollo, QI, The News Quiz and The Now Show, Ruffell also co-hosts the hit podcast Like Minded Friends with Tom Allen.

Emmanuel Sonubi: Emancipated – Friday 28 April, 7.30pm

Born and raised in North London Emmanuel Sonubi's career in comedy started only a few years ago but quickly grew from strength to strength earning him the reputation as "one to watch out for". He brings his Edinburgh Comedy Award nominated show Emancipated to The Studio and will be shining a light on which is scarier - working as a doorman in some of the most menacing clubs in London or being a parent to two young children.

His recent TV appearances include Live at the Apollo, Comedy Central’s Stand-Up UK and the ITV2’s Stand-up Sketch Show
