Hot on the heels of last year’s spellbinding Cinderella, Billy will lead the cast as Wishee Washee in this year’s must-see pantomime, a production packed full of the comedy, music, special effects and audience participation Bradford panto-goers have come to enjoy each festive season.
Since making his Alhambra Theatre pantomime debut in 1993, one of the nation’s best-loved comics Billy Pearce has topped the bill of the theatre’s annual festive production for nineteen years, and in that time starred alongside a host of star names, winning acclaim from critics and audience members alike, and solidifying his reputation as the stalwart of the annual Alhambra Theatre panto.
Having established himself on the club circuit to becoming one of the nation’s most talented comedians, Billy entertains hundreds of thousands of people each year through his various stand-up gigs, television appearances and stage productions, his most recent of which include The Rocky Horror Show, the brand new comedy play Seriously Dead and The Wind in the Willows. He recently received the Services to Arts and Entertainment at the Yorkshire Awards, an accolade previously won by Sir Alan Ayckbourn and The Kaiser Chiefs.
Michael Harrison, Managing Director of Qdos Entertainment, producer of the annual Alhambra Theatre pantomime says:
“It’s fantastic to have Billy back in Bradford once again. Not only does he love starring in the Alhambra Theatre panto, audiences absolutely adore him and we are delighted to be celebrating his 20th pantomime appearance this year. We’re already hard at work planning all sorts of magical surprises and hilarious routines for him to entertain audiences with, and they won’t be disappointed.”
Adam Renton, General Manager Bradford Theatres comments:
“The region’s audiences have huge affection for the Alhambra Theatre’s pantomime, and in particular for our headline performer, Billy Pearce. There’s no doubt that theatregoers of all ages will thoroughly enjoy another exceptional pantomime this year, and will want to share in the celebrations for Billy’s 20th Alhambra Theatre panto. I’m sure that when we go on sale in March, tickets will prove very popular.”
Featuring a wish-granting genie, an evil sorcerer and the timeless tale of the Twankey family, pantomime tickets go on sale to Friends, Groups & Schools from Monday 5 March at 10am and on public sale from Monday 12 March at 9am.
With further star casting to be announced, audiences should hop aboard their flying carpets and head to the Alhambra Theatre to be among the first to book for this year’s must-see, genie-us Bradford panto!
