Published

What a fantastic year 2014 has been so far, with Disney's The Lion King and the National Theatre's War Horse. The autumn season promises to be just as spectacular with a two week run of the West End smash hit Singin' in the Rain, full of high energy choreography and sumptuous set design (including 12,000 litres of water!); the Royal Shakespeare Company, presents Shakespeare's two greatest plays (The Guardian) Henry IV Parts 1 & 2; Cameron Mackintosh & Chichester Festival Theatre presents Barnum starring Brain Conley; Northern Ballet's The Great Gatsby; and the biggest pantomime in West Yorkshire, Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs! Not forgetting a very special 100th celebration night on Saturday 20 September, when Britain's leading musical theatre star Michael Ball headlines the evening and is joined by Billy Pearce, Lesley Joseph, The Krankies, Joe McElderry, Joe Pasquale and dancers from Matthew Bourne's New Adventures.

If that wasn't enough we have bumper seasons at St George's Hall, King's Hall in Ilkley and the Studio, with top comedians: John Bishop, Jon Richardson, Frank Skinner, Craig Campbell and Tom Stade; plus music to suit all tastes with Aled Jones, eclectic vocal group Blake and Saw Doctor Leo Moran and Waterboy Anthony Thistlethwaite. For the kids; The egg and Southbank Centre present The Queen's Knickers; get ready to embark on an exciting new mission with the Octonauts and we welcome back Milkshake Live!

Adam Renton, General Manager Bradford Theatres says:

"This year has been a very special one for the Alhambra Theatre, as it celebrates its 100th anniversary. It's a privilege to be General Manager of such an iconic venue at this current time.

The Alhambra Theatre remains a prestigious venue attracting a diverse and exciting range of star names and live entertainment to the city of Bradford. We pay homage to the early days of variety with our very own unique A Night of Variety in September; which follows hot on the heels of the West End smash Singin' in the Rain.

As well as enjoying dramatic treats such as Regeneration and the Royal Shakespeare Company's Henry IV, there is also the best in international dance to celebrate, including Northern Ballet, Matthew Bourne and the Brazilian dance company Grupo Corpo.

As ever, we offer the very best in live entertainment all year round. I look forward to welcoming you, your friends and family to Bradford Theatres during 2014."
