The ever-popular Yorkshire-man Billy Pearce will return to the Alhambra pantomime stage for his sixteenth season. Multi award-winner Billy has won just about every comedy award going, including a British Comedy Award, Solo Comedian of the Year, Best Television Comedy Newcomer, and most recently he was presented the Arts and Entertainment Award at the 2013 Yorkshire Awards. Billy has performed in five children’s Royal Variety shows and three Royal Variety shows and is currently touring the UK in his stand-up show Funny Guy.

Joe McElderry has been described as having a ‘24-carat voice’. Having auditioned for The X Factor at the age of just 18, he wowed audiences and quickly gained the number one slot in the UK charts with ‘The Climb’. Joe returned to TV in 2011 to win Popstar to Opera Star with a landslide victory, achieving 80% of the vote and in 2014 Joe was crowned king of the slopes as winner of Channel 4’s The Jump. Aside from celebrity status amassed from his TV appearances, Joe has released four albums, confirming him as a hugely important recording artist and talented songwriter. Joe has performed live for Her Majesty the Queen at the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall and is currently touring the UK on his 55 date Set Your Soul Alive tour. Although Joe is still just 22, he is currently writing and recording for his fifth album which is set for a 2014 release.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will be produced by the world’s biggest pantomime producer Qdos Entertainment, the company behind the hugely-successful production of Aladdin last Christmas. Qdos Entertainment has built a reputation for bringing awe-inspiring special effects to the Bradford stage which have in recent years included a motorbike flying out over the head of the audience and Aladdin taking a spectacular flying carpet ride out into the auditorium!

Michael Harrison, managing director of Qdos Entertainment’s pantomimes division said, “We’re delighted that Billy Pearce will once again be leading the cast of the Alhambra’s pantomime. Billy is a fantastic comedian who manages to capture the imagination of children and adults alike. We’ll also be developing a script which celebrates the sensational singing talent of Joe McElderry, who will be offering the Wicked Queen some wise words of advice from aboard a giant flying mirror.”

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will replace the previously advertised pantomime Peter Pan and is on public sale from Friday 28 March 2014. The production runs from Saturday 13 December 2014 to Sunday 25 January 2015.
