Bradford Theatres International Concert Season continues at St George’s Hall this month with the Belgian National Orchestra on Thursday 10 November andThe Hallé on Sunday 20 November.

This will be the first UK visit of the Belgian National Orchestra for some years and this time they perform under their dynamic, fabulous new conductor Roberto González-Monjas.

The Hallé makes a welcome return in the first of three concerts this season. Under the direction of Stephen Bell the present a delightful Winter concert of orchestral classics. Grieg’s Piano Concerto is one of the most famous and beautiful pieces of music ever written and soloist Tom Poster is sure to give an outstanding performance. We also hear Bradford-born Frederick Delius’s delightful Sleigh Ride, Vivaldi’s Winter from The Four Seasons, Humperdinck’s version of a classic fairy-tale and Waldteufel’s Skater’s Waltz which was written to capture the atmosphere of a winter’s day in Paris. A selection from Tchaikovsky’s fantasy story The Nutcracker completes the afternoon of stunning music by the Hallé.

The season continues next year with two more concerts from the Hallé theirpopular Viennese New Year Concert on Sunday 8 January 2023. Their final concert on the season on Friday 3 March 2023 is conducted by Sir Mark Elder

On Saturday 29 April 2023 Bradford Festival Choral Society and Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra present a sublime evening of classical masterpieces including; Handel Coronation Anthems: Zadok the Priest, The King Shall Rejoice and Mozart Requiem.

Bradford’s Concert Season comes to an end on Friday 19 May 2023 with a concert from the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. This distinguished orchestra is joined by internationally renowned pianist Freddy Kempf, who will perform Rachmaninov’s second piano concerto, the music of which featured heavily in the 1945 film Brief Encounter.
