Embrace mark 30 years with release of new book
Thirty years of the iconic Brit rock band Embrace is being celebrated with their first ever book.
Good Good People: The Story of Embrace – Volume 1 is an intimate and richly illustrated journey into the origins of one of Britain’s most beloved bands.
Featuring a bookplate signed by all band members and an exclusive CD of some of their biggest hits, it is a must-have for all fans of the Brit rock era.
Told through the voices of the band members themselves – brothers Danny and Richard McNamara, Steve Firth, Mike Heaton and Mickey Dale - this beautifully crafted book traces Embrace’s story. From their Yorkshire childhoods and early musical influences to the formation of the band and the determination that drove them forward.
Featuring rare photographs, personal memories, behind-the-scenes stories, and candid reflections, the book reveals the friendships, challenges, ambitions, and moments of inspiration that shaped Embrace’s identity.
Readers will discover how five very different individuals came together to create a sound that would resonate with a generation and produce timeless songs filled with emotion, hope, and authenticity.
More than a music biography, Good Good People is a story about belief, perseverance, creativity, and the enduring power of connection through music
It complements lead singer Danny McNamara’s new celebratory tour, which comes to King’s Hall, Ilkley on Wednesday 23 September.
Danny said:
“From running from the police in Leicester Square to breaking into the Big Brother house, from making one of the fastest selling debut albums of all time to owing our record company four million quid. This is the first book we've ever made in all our 30 years as a band, and it covers everything from our childhoods right up to the day we got the phone call from Hut telling us we were dropped. Through it all we’ve been the same five people since the start, so we must have been doing something right. You can come and hear about it all and more when I do my spoken word tour in September and October. Come and say hello, I'll be signing copies of the book after every show.”
