During this fun show audiences can sing their hearts out as the live host teaches some dance moves and shows how to use their free props bag. Fancy dress is strongly encouraged and full audience participation essential. Please note this is a screening of the movie not a live stage show.

The circus is coming back to St George’s Hall on Monday 13 February, when Circus Spectacular rolls into town.

Suitable for all ages, this circus style variety show features international circus acts, amazing magic and laugh-out-loud comedy. Top-class artistes will bring skill and suspense with their acts, as well as participating in the production numbers and comedy aspects of the show. Together they create one truly unhinged experience, culminating in a ‘slosh’ style finale.

Northern Ballet’s hugely popular Ugly Duckling comes to St George's Hall on Saturday 8 April for two wonderful performances. Suitable for ages 3+ this retelling of the famous Hans Christian Andersen fairytale is the perfect opportunity for little ones to enjoy live ballet, music and theatre for the first time.

Ugly Duckling is lonely and fed-up, ignored by those around her who think she is too ugly to fit in. She tries to make friends with fellow ducklings as well as with frogs, cats and even a fox, but realising she is not like any of these animals, she is left sad and alone. On her journey the duckling overcomes her troubles and realises that she was beautiful all along.

The creative team include Dreda Blow and Sebastian Loe (choreography), Dave Gillan (set design), Alastair West (lighting design), Julie Anderson (costume design and realisation) and John Longstaff (music arrangement).
