Taiko Drummers march into Bradford with Tribe 25

Now in its landmark 25th year, Mugenkyo has established itself as Europe’s longest established Taiko organisation. It promises captivating performance, with sharp synchronisation, dramatic choreography and sumptuous soundscapes, all wrapped up in a breath-taking display of high energy and powerful earth-shaking rhythms on huge taiko drums.

Mugenkyo was established in 1994, and is now at the forefront of the art-form on this continent. It has continued to develop a unique style, fusing the traditional taiko spirit with a modern image and sound, dramatic lighting, theatricality and humour.

Having just released a 6th album “Way of the Drum” Mugenkyo has also released 3 concert DVD’s, making it the most artistically prolific taiko group outside of Japan. In addition to major tours, Mugenkyo also perform at large-scale events and festivals at home and abroad, and makes appearances on numerous television programmes such as the Brit Awards and BBC Last Night of the Proms.

Mugenkyo pushes the boundaries of the art-form with genre-crossing collaborations, such as the highly acclaimed The World of the Gods with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, with violin, piano & voice for the BBC World Showcase, with fiddle, tabla & Indian dance for the Edinburgh Mela Festival, and with Scottish bagpipes for the BBC’s Last Night of the Proms.
