The 31st Bradford International Chamber Season Announced at Bradford Cathedral

There is a wonderful selection of classical music at Bradford Cathedral for the 31st Chamber Season, which opens later this year.

Adam Renton, General Manager Bradford Theatres comments: ‘Bradford’s Chamber Season continues for 2018/19 in the historic Bradford Cathedral: an intimate venue and the perfect place to enjoy classical music. Martin Roscoe, one of the UK’s best loved pianists, returns for the opening concert of the 31st Chamber season. The season also welcomes a number of returning favourites, including horn player Ben Goldscheider and violinist Tasmin Little with pianist John Lenehan. The season will close with one of the UK’s biggest selling classical artists, clarinettist Emma Johnson who is joined by the Gildas Quartet We look forward to welcoming our loyal customers and new audiences to experience classical music in this wonderful venue in the heart of Bradford.’   The season opens with British pianist Martin Roscoe. With an extraordinary career spanning over 4 decades, Martin is arguably one of the UK’s best loved pianists. The programme includes music by Schumann, Schubert, Debussy, Chopin and Beethoven. The concert opens with Beethoven’s Sonata in C minor, Op.13 Pathetique, one of the composer's most beautiful and haunting pieces.   The season continues with a number of Bradford Cathedral debuts: we welcome cellist Pieter Wispelwey accompanied by pianist Danny Driver, Romanian pianist George Todica and London based trio Pelleas Ensemble with Henry Roberts, Luba Tunnicliffe and Oliver Wass.   The 2018-19 Chamber Season closes with a performance from Emma Johnson, one of Britain’s favourite clarinettists who is joined by the award-winning Gildas Quartet.   There are chamber subscription packages available, with savings of up to 20%. New subscriptions go on sale from Monday 21 May and tickets go on general sale on Monday 4 June.
