The Fairest Panto in the Land Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Opens to Packed House at the Alhambra Theatre!

The Alhambra Theatre’s pantomime, SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS, opened last Saturday to packed houses and will run for the next 5 weeks in Bradford. Panto legend, Billy Pearce, leads the star-studded line-up of the festive spectacular as The Man in the Mirror, alongside international pop legend Sinitta (The Spirit of Pantomime) and Britain’s Got Talent semi‑finalist Myra DuBois (Queen Lucretia). They are joined by returning panto star and West Yorkshire local Sarah Pearson (Snow White), musical theatre performer Callum Connolly (Prince William), and the Magnificent Seven: Jamie John, Josh Bennett, Andy Herd, Kyle Herd, Paul Monoghan, Craig Salisbury and Richard Blenkiron (who is from Shipley).

Billy Pearce first topped the bill of the Alhambra Theatre’s annual festive production in 1993, winning acclaim from critics and audience members alike, and has since solidified his reputation as the King of Yorkshire comedy. Side-splittingly funny, Billy will bring his trademark mad-cap comedy and boundless energy to the stage and will have audiences laughing in the aisles just like he does every year – but this year, marking an extra special 25th anniversary.

Sinitta, whose chart‑topping hits include So Macho, Toyboy and Cross My Broken Heart, returns to her theatrical roots to play The Spirit of Pantomime. Her West End credits include Cats, Little Shop of Horrors, Hair, Smokey Joe’s Café and Mutiny!. She has recently appeared in the UK and Ireland tour of Now That's What I Call A Musical and Chicago the Musical. Since the mid-00s Sinitta has remained in the spotlight becoming a mentor to young emerging talent as Simon Cowell's right-hand woman on The X Factor.

Myra DuBois, the self‑proclaimed ‘Siren from South Yorkshire’, brings her razor‑sharp wit to Bradford as the Wicked Queen. A breakout star of Britain’s Got Talent 2020, Myra has played London’s biggest cabaret stages, taken her solo show Dead Funny to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Sydney Opera House. Myra makes her Bradford panto debut after starring in the last two pantomime seasons at Manchester Opera House.

West Yorkshire local Sarah Pearson returns to the Alhambra Theatre having previously played the titular role in Cinderella in 2023 and The Fox in Pinocchio in 2024. Her television work includes Priti Parmar in Virdee (BBC/Magical Society), while theatre credits include Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder (Edinburgh Fringe Festival/UK Tour), and Woman in I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change (Wolverhampton Grand/Edinburgh Fringe Festival).

Callum Connolly’s theatre credits include Hipster Dork and Ram Sweeney first cover in Heathers: The Musical (Original UK & International Tour), Dan and Pharaoh first cover in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (UK & Ireland Tour) and Ensemble and Peter first cover in Lovestuck (Stratford East, London). Last year, Callum appeared as Prince Charming in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs panto at Fairfield Halls in Croydon.

The Sunbeams return to the Alhambra Theatre’s pantomime again this year, provided by Sara Packham Theatre School in Keighley. This marks the theatre school’s 20th year of providing the legendary Sunbeams for the Bradford panto. The tradition of the Sunbeams (the children’s dance troupe) in pantomimes at the venue can be traced back to the 1930s, under the leadership of Francis Laidler who built the venue in 1914 and directed many pantos there over the decades.

There is a performance for everybody this festive season: two sign language interpreted performances (Thursday 11 December at 2pm and Sunday 11 January at 5pm); two audio described performances (Friday 2 January at 2.30pm and 7.15pm); a captioned performance (Sunday 4 January at 5pm); two relaxed and signed performances (Tuesday 6 January at 1pm and 6pm) - the relaxed performance will welcome everyone who would like to see the panto in a less formal atmosphere.

SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS is produced by Crossroads Pantomimes, the world’s biggest pantomime producer and the same team behind the annual Alhambra Theatre pantomime for over 20 years. It is directed by Ed Curtis, returning for his 14th Alhambra Theatre pantomime, with choreography by Stillie Dee. As well as the talented cast, ground-breaking special effects once again take centre-stage, created by The Twins FX who have been delivering these visual treats to Alhambra Theatre audiences over the past 10 years.
