Story of King's Hall & Winter Garden

Located in the heart of the picturesque town of Ilkley, King's Hall & Winter Garden is a stunning venue to enjoy live entertainment and the perfect location for weddings and social functions.

The Foundation Stone Laid

Cllr. T J Jackson laid the foundation stone in 1906 and he opened, what was then the Town Hall on 27 April 1908. On 6 May 1908 the Council had their first meeting and continued to meet there until 1974.

The Opening of Winter Garden

The Winter Garden was opened on 22 June 1914 by Cllr Joseph Dinsdale. With its glass canopy, lantern roof, balcony and sprung wooden floor, the Winter Garden was a popular place for concerts, meetings, and dances. Today it’s the perfect setting for weddings and other celebrations.

Ilkley Town Hall Blue Plaque

On 10 June 2004 Yorkshire’s own Alan Titchmarsh unveiled the Ilkley Town Hall blue plaque.

Ilkley Pride

In 2022 King’s Hall and Winter Garden hosted the first Ilkley Pride. The event was incredibly well received, with over 1000 people attending and celebrating at the venue.
