Enjoy Great Comedy at King's Hall, Ilkley!
This Autumn we are looking forward to welcoming a great line-up of top comedy nights to King’s Hall, Ilkley. From hilarious Drag to popular well-known names and cutting-edge stand-up there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Baga Chipz is back on tour and bringing her new show Chip Off The Old Block to King’s Hall, Ilkley on Monday 1 September.
This will be an evening of live vocals with big band ballads, disco classics and songs you’d sing down the pub. There will also be a special segment dedicated to Baga’s dear friend The Vivienne. Complete with dirty foul jokes this x-rated comedy extravaganza is not for the faint hearted.
Baga is celebrating a 20-year career from queen of the boozers to international superstar, sharing stories and tales ranging from meeting the Queen to the backstage gossip on RuPaul’s Drag Race! There will also be an audience Q&A.
Comedian Rob Newman is bringing his barnstorming new stand-up show about where we are and where we’re going to King’s Hall, Ilkley on Friday 12 September.
In Where The Wild Things Were, Rob covers material from future cities and philistine film directors to Dorothy Parker’s Multiverse Diaries. Throw in Pythagorean gangsters, intellectual bingo callers and a crazy character called Arlo - and the result is a hilarious tour-de force.

Multi award-winning, BAFTA-nominated writer and comedian Mark Steel is stopping off at King’s Hall, Ilkley on Saturday 13 September as part of his new tour The Leopard in My House. The topic is his battle with throat cancer. A battle he is winning (thankfully) and which only his rapier wit could fashion a comedy tour show out of. Cancer has done nothing to dull Mark's acute political observations or quash his frankly bonkers energy: you will laugh, you will cry, but you'll laugh again, and again, and again. The Leopard in My House is proof that this leftie, working-class, Radio 4 favourite truly deserves his place in the UK comedy pantheon.
Mark Steel is best known for his critically acclaimed BBC Radio 4 show Mark Steel’s in Town (now in its 13th series), as well as his hit podcast What The F*** Is Going On…?. He has presented the BAFTA-nominated Mark Steel Lectures for BBC Two and is a regular on BBC One’s Have I Got News for You and BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz. He has also written several acclaimed books, including an adaptation of his critically acclaimed stand-up show Who Do I Think I Am? for Audible.
The multi-award winning BBC TV sitcom Ideal will transfer from screen to stage, with a special 20th anniversary theatre show. Created by the team behind the original hit TV series, the hilarious Ideal live show will be at King’s Hall, Ilkley on Tuesday 16 September.
Johnny Vegas reprises his role as Moz: Manchester’s longest serving weed dealer, in a ‘dope opera’ of epic proportions. Featuring many of the beloved, long running BBC TV comedy’s most iconic characters and actors, the Ideal live show is dark, surreal and laugh out loud funny.
Johnny Vegas commented: “Moz is back and he’s more chaotic than ever. Fans of Ideal will absolutely love the stage show, which is full of laugh-out-loud moments and bizarre twists and turns. It’s amazing to be able to breathe new life into the series and once again be stepping into the shoes of one of Manchester’s most well-known weed dealers. You’d be a fool to miss it!”
Babatunde Aléshé, one of the fastest rising stars in British Comedy, is back on tour and bringing his hilarious new stand up show High Expectations to King's Hall, Ilkley on Thursday 18 September. In his new show, this multi-award-winning comedian will be guiding us through family life, his new found fame and the joys of Costco.
After warming the hearts of the nation with his incredible stint in the jungle as part of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, Baba's stock has continued to shoot through the roof. Now a firm TV favourite, the hugely popular comedian, actor and podcaster has since been seen on Taskmaster (C4), Live at the Apollo (BBC), Celebrity Gogglebox (with Mo Gilligan - C4), Would I Lie to You (BBC) and The Last Leg (C4).
The Comedy Store brings audiences 'The Best In Stand Up' from around the globe, showcasing the brightest names in comedy today and coming to King’s Hall, Ilkley for two dates this autumn season on Saturday 20 September and Saturday 8 November.
With nearly 40 years’ experience in the business and as the premier name in comedy, The Comedy Store is renowned as a breeding ground for new comedy talent and remains the place to see tomorrow’s stars today.
