There are those who watch and listen, who tap a shy finger to the melodies, others who follow with a silent foot-beat, still others who murmur softly through the lyrics, and those who simply permit a fleeting smile. But common to all are memories.
“At our King’s Hall concert, we would like to pay tribute to the late Derek Southcott, a wonderful Trombone player and “Brass Legend” with connections to the Ilkley area. Derek’s was a member of the Black Dyke Band and the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, and after Syd sadly passed away, played lead Trombone with the NRO” says bandleader Nick Ross
